Fairy von Lilienfeld demonstrates in this collection of studies that the cave monasticism and monasticism in general do not represent at all the result of some external influences exercised by the Hellenistic environment, but this is a typical Ecclesial phenomenon, evolving from the itinerant Prophethood of instructions-prophets and apostles whom, in the Old Church, travelled from one citadel to another, preaching the Kingdom of God, as it is presented in the words of the Redeemer rendered mainly in Synoptic Gospel.
