At its basis, the Orthodox Monasticism is hesychast, because this holy hesychasm is the support of prophetic, apostolic and martyr life. Outside the holy hesychasm, which is connected to man’s communion with Jesus Christ, death is not exceeded and therefore the prophetic, apostolic and martyr life cannot exist either. It means authentic Orthodox monasticism cannot exist either.
